Trip booked for Nov. 9th
We have had a flights booked for a few months leaving on Nov. 9th. Looking for any information regarding whether to go or re route elsewhere. I have read on this site that flights are not allowed in etc. We are a family of 4 - kids are 4 & 7
ANY OPINIONS ARE HELPFUL FOR GOING OR OPTIONS FOR ANOTHER DESTINATION.
Very little info on the Caymans has been received by Western Canada.
many thanks.

Read the reports on www.stormcarib.com, they are useful to give you an indication of the situation. From what I have read, I would not chance it for November 9, I do not think the island will be in a condition for tourists at that time, but it may depend on where you are staying, many resorts sustained major damage. You might look at Aruba as an alternate destination. Our family of four is going there October 31 - November 8, staying at the Aruba Marriott Ocean Club.

Talked to a friend who lives in Cayman yesterday evening. In her words, the island is "ugly" right now. Trees are gone, nothing green, trash everyplace. I know it is getting cleaned up as quickly as possible, however, this might not be the time to go (provided you can.

Beg to differ. I just returned from GC this morning. The North Side of the island is very green. In fact, heading north all along Frank Sound road is all green. There is damage to many units, but not all... since they were on the leeward side of the storm.
