First and foremost, take as many diapers as you think you will need for the day you travel, double it, and put it in your carry on. I always vowed to do this after seeing a desparate man walk up to complete strangers offering $10 for a single diaper after being stuck in an airport unexpectedly for 12 hours due to bad weather!!!! When my kids were little, I always made sure I had plenty of "supplies" and of course, Murphy's Law, I never needed them!!!!
As for your real question - I agree with the previous poster - get a villa or something with plenty of room, some sort of kitchen and ideally, your own washing machine and dryer!

We started to travel with our now 13 year old when he was 8 months old. I would pack a huge box with baby raft, walker ( I felt was a life saver), and ship it to whereever we were going. And yes, even where customs was an issue. My husband thought I was nuts until he needed the walker in the condo or wanted to go in the water and loved the baby raft.
