Tortola from St. John
Can anyone tell me if there are any day trips that are organized from St. John to Tortola? My concern also is my husband gets seasick in a rocking chair, does anyone know the best way to avoid that? thanks!

Do you and your husband like to go snorkeling or scuba diving. If you don't, it might not pay to spend a day on Tortola.
If you want to see the island of Tortola, you can ask a taxi to give you a 2 or 3 hour tour of Tortola. A 3 hour tour for 2 people should cost about $60. The tour should be OK, but I'm not sure that it's worth the hassle of traveling from St. John.

It sounds like it is not something that is done often if there are not organized day trips to do so. We do like to snorkle but not enough to go there just to do that. If we do go, I guess we would be on our own to find a way to get there which would be renting a boat on our own?

There's a ferry that goes to Tortola in the morning (8:30ish?) and returning about 4/5 pm. It is a big motor boat but depending on the weather, it may still cause a bit of motion sickness. Your husband can try Dramamine or the Seaband wrist bans. Sitting up top in the open air may help too. It costs about $40(?) round-trip (sorry, I can't remember). Anyway, the ferry goes everyday and is about 35 minutes long. At the Tortola dock you will find taxis to hire or you can rent a car for the day for about $65.
