Time Shares on the Islands?

Has anyone got any information regarding the time shares they offer not only in St. Thomas but all over the world. Are they legitimate? We are interested but want to proceed cautiously. Thanks for any information.

Norma, I'm not sure I understand your question, but there are several timeshare resorts on St. Thomas. Bluebeard's Castle, Bluebeard's Beach Club and the Elysian Beach Resort are all "sister" timeshare resorts. You can find more information about them at www.bluebeards.net. Sapphire Beach Resort also offers timesharing. And Magen's Point Resort is another. On St. John, the Westin resort has timesharing opportunities. I don't understand what you mean when you say "offer...all over the world, unless you are referring to the fact that you can trade your timeshare week for a week at one of thousands of resorts throughout the world. (We own a timeshare at Bluebeard's Beach Club). If you like, you can e-mail me and I will send you several links to websites with lots of timesharing information.
Gerie

Thanks Gerie!
We were mainly trying to find out what people thought about timeshares, what the pros and cons are, the rules of buying resales, i.e. do we get all the same benefits of the original buyer, they may say that we do and we actually do not get all benefits. How do we confirm these things if we were to buy. How hard is it to sell them? How do I find out about international (Italy, Bermuda) timeshares. Those are some of my questions. Please let me know what you think. Thanks again for your input.

Norma, there are two great sites that were created for and by timeshare owners, not developers. One is www.tug2.net and the other is www.timesharing-today.com. Each requires a subscription, but have many areas with free access, including message boards. I especially recommend TUG, they have a lot of explanatory material on their site. AOL also has a timesharing message board, but it is not overly active. I will e-mail you a link to that. If you'd like me to get more into timesharing, my take on it anyway as a timshare owner, I'll be happy to, but we should perhaps do that in e-mails. Don't hesitate to write me if I can help some more in your decision making process.
Gerie
Gerie
