I just got back from 3 months in Nicaragua and am getting caught up with my people. I am considering a short 2 month trip to Havana leaving sometime in June. Not seeing great flight only options to Varadero at this time though.

Exchanged more USD today. Most of the taxi drivers I spoke to either weren't interested or were offering me much less. Same in regards to the resort staff. Finally found a driver that accepted my offer of 380 pesos per dollar. Current street rate is 398.

I'll find out abiut Canadian $'s Thursday or Friday. As for cold drinks, I had a Mayabe yesterday while walking around town. My resort ran out of draft Crystal and then was serving : Presidente, Becks and Super Bock. Draft beer returned yesterday. I usually have 1 beer a day, some wine with dinner and the rest of the time sipping on 8 year Santiago de Cuba. Buying it myself. Resort doesn't offer any good rum.

Foreign currencies keep getting stronger in Cuba. Street rates are now 405 pesos per USD and 271 for CDN. These are the maximum rates one might get doing an informal exchange. I typically ask for around 5% less.
