St. Barts Hotels Help

Any thoughts on which is absolutely the best, most luxurious hotel on St. Barts?

I would vote Isle de france.

Eden Rock will be fantastic once its done and Le Toiny is wonderful as well. It is hard to go wrong with hotels in SBH, but I would vote Isle de france, it is on a fantastic beach. I was there in Nov. and spent the day at the hotel. (I was staying in a villa) the food was fabulous and it was a wonderful experience.

I agree about St. Barts Isle de France. Definitely the best hotel on the island on the best beach. Flamands beach is a classic wide, white sand Caribbean beach. We stayed there a few years ago and loved it. The food at the restaurant is great.

Another vote for Isle de France - a great boutique hotel on a terrific beach - excellent food, also.

I don't think you can go wrong with Guanahani either. It is a great resort, very nice with a spa now, etc. Isle de france is just more luxurious and you asked for the MOST luxurious

Guanahani is OK. It is the island's most self-sufficient resort and it has one of the best swimming pools on the island. It is on two beaches, but those beaches are more like natural swimming pools - absolutely no waves.

I agree that the Ile de France is probably the most luxurious. To be the best, one must be on Flamands beach. Therefore, if Ile de France is booked, I would vote for Hotel Baie des Anges or Taiwana as the best beach-front hotels.

If you like no-waves, then go to Guanahani or Sereno. Toiny has no real beach.

DO NOT GO TO ST. BARTHS BEACH HOTEL. It is cheap, run-down, and looks like a retirement community.

I have one caution about Bais des Anges. I booked there for three nights TWO months in advance and the very next day I had to change my plans but was able to stay for one night. When I requested the change, they said they were going to charge me the 8% cancellation fee anyway. Of course, I cancelled the whole reservation because I thought it was cheesy to hit me with the charge 24 hours after i made the reservation and they could certainly rent the room over the next two months. So . . be sure your plans are concrete before you book or YOU WILL BE CHARGED!
