so Cap Jaluca or Cuisinart

Okay, I'm convinced.....It's Anguilla. So should it be Cap Jaluca or Cuisinart? Or is there another one to consider??

As was mentioned in several answers to your other post the three "top" resorts on Anguilla are Cap Juluca, Cusinart and Malliouhana. Each has there supporters so you'll get varying responses. Go to each of the resort websites to see if any of them meet your particular criteria.

Personally, I prefer Cap, the beach is one of the best on the island, the resort is nicely laid out and the service is first rate.

Cusinart's beach can be windy at times but it has a better pool.

Malliouhana is on the opposite side of the island so you get great sunset views.

if you do a search of this questions (Cuisi v. Cap) you will see that many people are very loyal to one or the other and feel very strongly about their favorites!

My preference is Cap, but i have never stayed at Cuisi.Cap feels very luxurious, very private, very elegant. It seems to attract mainly couples, as opposed to families. The separate villas really give you a sense of privacy, the rooms are very nice and the beach is AMAZING. while we did not stay at Cuisi, we did visit the hotel and there definitely seemed to be more kids and the resort had more of a commercial feel than Cap. When we go back to anguilla, we will stay at cap again. have a great trip1

Thank you emcash. One thing is that the Cap Juluca website is not very good. Very hard to figure out the room differences, etc. Plus it looks as though they only have one restaurant

CJ actualkly has 3 restaurants:

George's restaurant is right on the beach near the swimming pool.

Pimms (their signature restaurant)and Kemia (their tapas restaurant) are located in the same building at the east end of the property.

Thanks roamsaround. It is wierd though that such a posh resort wouldn't have a better and more navigable website.

I am one of the Cuisinart loyals. I personally think there isn't a finer resort. The grounds and rooms are lovely, and to me there isn't a better beach than Rendezvous Bay. The staff is excellent here as well. We have made friends with many of them over the years and always receive great big hugs when we arrive! It's the greatest.

My wife and I stayed at Cuisinart 2 years ago and loved. We had dinner at Cap, but liked the feel of Cuisinart better. More open, airy and less stuffy feeling. The beach is nice and the food via the hydroponic farm is outstanding. We were in a Junior Suite on the beach, very nice. BTW we are in our late 20s and felt very comfortable with the atmosphere there.

Well, I have decided on Cap. I am sure that they are both nice as they are both rated as 5 star resorts.

Personally, I would have picked CuisinArt over Cap Juluca. Nice layout, better food, less stuffy and you don't have to walk on the road (or wait for a golf cart) to get to the main part. Plus, Cap's pool is no where near as nice as CA.

wbg, when are you going? Please post a report on the hotels when you return, as I'm going in May 2009 and am having a similar dilema picking hotels. Thanks!

We absolutely loved CJ and thought it was charming and beautiful. The staff couldn't have been friendlier or more efficient. I think you'll have a great time!

When we went to check out Cuisinart, we didn't like the grounds as much because it was too manicured for our tastes and we felt as if we could have been anywhere. It was beautiful, of course, but in our opinion, not as lovely as CJ.
