Snorkeling

How is the snorkeling in St. Lucia & Anguilla?

Do any other islands have great snorkeling besides St John?

Cayman Brac has FANTASTIC snorkeling. Aruba is also pretty good.

You find excellent snorkling throughout the British Virgin Islands. Anguilla is just average for snorkling and St. Lucia leaves much to be desired.

I don't know about Anguilla - I love the beaches there, but have never snorkeled there.

However, St. Lucia has really good snorkeling aroung the Pitons at Anse Chastenet. The snorkeling there is comprable to some snorkeling that I have done in St. John. Many people who visit St. Lucia stay in the northern part, which has very lack luster snorkeling. Anse Chastenet has great diving further off shore, but subject to currents.

I don't remember extensive reef development where I snorkeled, but had very good fish population. Snorkeling is right off the beach.

I have had very good snorkeling experiences in Curacao and Aruba - fantastic reef development off secluded beaches, but I would NOT recommend it to a beginner snorkeler - sometimes strong current and waves and the best snorkeling sites due to the islands being so windy.

I have heard that Turks and Caicos and parts of the Bahamas have really good snorkeling.
