Small beachfront hotel - Barbados
Looking to combine another island with Grenada next year. Seems like Barbados might be a good choide. Would like a hotel where we can step out of our room and onto the sand. Air conditioning is a must. Recommendations anyone?

Cobblers Cove would be my suggestion. It is small and intimate hotel on a gorgeous beach, English country house style, restaurant part of Relais & Chateaux. The suites and gardens are lovely and it is right on the beach.

Small, only 29-30 suites, is Treasure Beach, a gem on a lovely stretch of beach. See www.treasurebeachhotel.com
The class act on the island is Coral Reef Club--medium sized, but low-rise plantation style bldgs. and cottages on gorgeous grounds adjacent to an underwater park. See www.coralreefbarbados.com

Cobblers Cove is the only place in Barbados I've ever stayed, but it does have 4 rooms that fit your description. The rest of the rooms aren't beachfront but are a 2 minute walk. It's small, intimate, and charming. Food was excellent on site when we were there back in 2003. And since it's still a Relais & Chateaux hotel, I assume that the same standards of food and service apply.
