North shore beaches are the most likely to get hit with cruise ship folks usually between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. They usually clear out by 3 p.m. to go back to whatever ark they came on. They are ferried over to Cruz Bay and take taxis out to the beaches. Locals and other savvy tourists know to avoid the north shore beaches during that time period. Some days are more populous than others. Not all cruise ships offer the outing to St. John, it really depends on the ship's particular itinerary.
