Sandals Royal Bahamian - Nice Trip
My wife and I returned from our honeymoon on May 31. Had a great 10 day trip with some bad weather (little rain but mostly just cloud bursts) but we came home with great tans non-the-less. The only thing bad about the resort in my opinion is the fact that some rooms can be mildewy (but we got to change rooms no problem) and the pools can get a little loud and/or rowdy at times. Overall, pretty good food, nice atmosphere and good staff. Questions feel free to email me!

Hi Sam - Congratulations on your wedding! first, thanks for your reply on post about SRB. I have a few questions. Was it more fun to spend the day on the out island or by the pools onshore? What type of food was served on the out island during the day? Can you borrow snorkel equipment during the day or just on the snorkel trips? How's the beer at the Pub? Any "must do's or must have's" from your vacation? Favorite drinks?? Did you try out any spa treatments? Thanks

We loved the out island because it was QUIET! Much better snorkeling out there too. You can get the snorkel gear whenever you like. But we took the snorkel trip and enjoyed that too.

Food on the out island during the day is really just burgers, hot dogs and fries, etc. grill food, not bad, fills you up. Pub beer isnt all that great. Just Coors Light, Kalik - a Bahamian beer and I think Miller stuff. Premium Alcohol though. Must do? Go to Nassau to see it, get a walking tour if you are interested in history. Drinks - my wife liked the Miami Vice (dont ask what's in it its red though). Spa is awesome! Must do! I got two massages, the sampler and then just swedish and then a Men's Facial which was my first but quite nice. Have fun!

Thank yo Sam for all your answers. My husband will be bummed that the beer isn't any good! I guss he'll be drinking some bourban at night! I was wondering how dressy everyone got at the nicer resturants. Will he feel comfortable in kahki's w/ polo top? Also did they require men to wear closed toe shoes or would leather sandals be fine? Just starting to think about what to pack....thanks

"going" -

I think your husband will be pleasantly surprised by the Kalik beer. My husband and I traditionally drink Heineken, Corona, and other imports and we really liked Kalik. Won't need anything dressier than Khaki's and a collared shirt, but the "Crystal" Dining Room (our favorite) would not let my husband wear sandals so you'll want to pack some closed toed shoes.

If therer for four days - enjoy the resort! You will not want to leave!! There is some great shopping downtown however!

We had the Windosr Suite - guess that is why we never left the property - nicer then my house!! My sister had the Honeymoon Grand Lux Ocean View Junior Suite and it was great.

We booked the deluxe room but were upgraded one category to an ocean view. We stayed in the older block (Manor) but were very happy with our room. It was the quality of a nice Marriott with a spectacular view. The Windsor Block is the newer and nicer of the two, so if you want to make a request for that it can't hurt.

We were there 8 days and stayed on the resort with 2 exceptions; we went on the dolphin swim one morning (alot of fun if that's your sort of thing) and we spent 1/2 day touring around Nassau and shoppng at the straw market. The resort is beautiful, but if this is your first time to the Bahamas I would suggest 1/2 day just getting out and seeing the rest of the island.

Have fun!
