Sandals Hicacos - Cuba
There was a thread about this earlier but I think it was deleted due to idiotic "flaming".

Various people have been asking when it will open (including me) and there has been very little information available.

However - thanks to a helpful poster on Tropicaltravelonline.com I have been able to find out that this resort will be open on or before 19th October.

I'm booked to go on 23rd October and will post a trip report when I get back.

Please please don't let this thread degenerate into a "who can/can't go and wouldn't go even if they could" discussion.

Leave this thread for genuine information about this place. Nobody can have anything bad to say about it as nobody has been yet!

If it is good/poor/value etc I will let you know when I get back!

Regards
Martin

According to an email i got from the manager of beaches varadero, sandals hicacos will be open in september. Check www.tropictravelonline.com in a week or so for reports...someone over there is in cuba as we speak (at beaches as sandals is not open) and she is going to report back...can't wait for info on this resort!!

Thanks for that information.

You could be correct that it is due to open in September.

I have the date of 19th October as the latest it should be open (from TropicalTravelOnline.com) because there is a conference booked in on that date.

If it opens in September then everything should be ready for my visit in October.

However I have posted requests for information on all the Caribbean BB's and nobody has replied saying that they will be there any earlier than me.

Regards
Martin

Wouldn't it be nice if Fodor's had a Cuba board so that we could find out information on it's resort rather than being concerned all the time that the thread will turn into one of those nauseous debates!
I've been looking for info on the diving out of Cayo Guillermo or Coco for a few weeks to no avail.
