Sandals, Antigua vs St. Lucia
Looking to book a trip in March 02'. The all inclusive aspect of a Sandals sounds good. Do you think Sandals is worth it? If so do you have a recommendation on which one to go to. The travel agent recommended Antigua or St. Lucia.

We travel alot and do enjoy Sandals. We personally have always found the quality of food and service to be very good, found the facilites to be very well maintained and really, you do not have a care in the world once you are there.

We have been to 6 different SAndals properities and they are all different in atmosphere so it does depend on what you are looking for.

Antigua is one of our favorites. It is a really beautiful property with lush gardens - very romantic, laid back and relaxing. The beach is nice and long, calm and clear waters, great food and service and we loved the little pools scattered about. Also enjoyed the evening entertainment in the courtyard each night but the disco was very quiet.

We have not been to SAndals St. Lucia but to Halycon and we too enjoyed that property. VERY tropical!

Other favorites was Negril and BEaches Turks. Negril is, in our opinion, the best SAndals in Jamaica, if not for the beach alone.

Keith - haven't been to either, but have booked my wedding/honeymoon at Halcyon St. Lucia for July.

For my fiancee and I, the decision came down to Sandals Antigua or Halcyon (both look and sound great based on the Sandals video our travel agent gave us, as well as from reviews on this board) and the tie-breaker for us was the fact that my fiancee could go for spa treatments while I hit the links at the golf resort on St. Lucia.

Remember... "Golf is Good"!!!

Sandals St.Lucia is a wonderful resort. We spent our 25th Anniversary there in Feb and will return there again. The resort itself is huge, lots of different resturants to choose from and all very good. The pools are also very large and plenty of space for everyone. I would choose St.Lucia over Antiqua. We have been to quite a few Sandals and loved them all. Email me if you have any ?'s i also have an excursion sheet for St.lucia Sandals if interested email me @ [email protected] and i will send it to you.

I have been to many of the Sandals resorts and so far, Antigua and Negril are my favorite. We are booked to go to St. Lucia very soon, but since I haven't been there yet, I can't speak for that resort. Antigua is an absolutely beatuful and romantic resort. My favorite room (and I saw them all) was the first level of concierege. They have the biggest rooms, good ocean views because they sit up high near the back of the resort and their own pool. The swim-up bar had more activity in it than Negril's because it's bigger. They also have an outside courtyard that has nightly entertainment in it that is nice because you're sitting outside. The island was very dry when we were there, but, there's still lots to do and see. We could see the cruise ships coming into port from our balcony which was neat. Let me know if you have any specific questions and I'll check this posting for them. Did I also mention that while I was in Antigua I won 2 free nights at Sandals??????

Funny that you mentioned about your favorite room at Antigua - we too ahve the lowest concierge level on the lbuff and too thought it was the best location - you are high up on the lbuff so you see the entire property, ocean, mainpool and the beautiful gardens. WE had a second floor room and it was really wonderful. Saw the other categories in the concierge level and really were happy with ours - the beachfront rooms are a gip - beleow concierge level in Antigua, all the rooms are really the same and there is really not a bad location except that block right on the entrance.
