We were there almost 5 years ago for our honeymoon. It's great if as you say, you want to combine beaches and relaxation, AND partying music and fun. You don't mention how old you are or why you're going, but bear in mind that when we went in May it was almost completely honeymooners. I've heard it's much better than the Sandals in St. Lucia. Service was great, rooms were nice, good food, lots to do, watersports guys are great, good snorkeling, - it really does look like the pictures on the Sandals website. Have fun.

we went for vacation about 4 years ago. It is all honeymooners(but us). The activities are great. Nice not to carry money. The facility is very well kept. There is no town worth going to so dont bother. Cruise ship town with tshirts and jewelry. The food is good and nice private beach. I learned ot play tennis with the free tennis pro. The huts are very nice too. It is quote the love shack! We went snorkelling twice too which was fun. I would not say much partying however. At least not with others! Most partying is in your own room (i.e the honeymooners).

Water life is good as is the dining. The "main"restaurant overlooks the beach. Weekly barbecue on the beach, as well as weekly managers cocktail party.
Very relaxing, but a good nightlife, steel drum bands, etc. We had a lot of fun! Very worth going to Sandals Antigua. We went in February and there were all ages from young couples who were dating still to some very old couples. We didn't see any honeymooners at that time. And, yes, this resort is WAY better than St. Lucia's - everything from the furniture to the weather! We were actually able to get into the water in Antigua. Wonderful to hire a driver and go around the island. We liked the shopping in the downtown area, as well.

We went in August and loved it. We were the oldest honeymooners there and enjoyed playing silly games with the young people. We joined everything and danced most nights. Food was great. Rooms Ok. Main pool busy and fun. We went back in Dec and the crowd was much older like us, but we had more fun with the younger people!!! That tells you about us I guess. We are off to St Lucia next. I hope you are wrong about it being not as good!Weather was super hot both times.
