San Juan hotel

We are going on a sailing trip in early December and plan on spending our last night in San Juan before flying home. We are looking for hotel recommendations in the moderate to above price range, good location (don't want to spend too much time in cabs), nice atmosphere, like to gamble a little. Any suggestions?

I think you would like two small chain hotels right in Isla Verde, within walking distance to the islands best casinos, restaurants, and night spots. They are the Embassy Suites and Hampton Inn.<BR>Ronnie

The Intercontinental in Isla Verde is 10 minutes from the airport (if that). It's a good hotel with a small casino and is located next to the Wyndham El San Juan, which has mor egoing on at night (and a bigger, more lively casino).

In my opinion the San Juan Marriott is wonderful. I have stayed there several times and have never been disappointed. The El San Juan Wyndham in Isle Verde is a very nice place but a little stuffy for my taste. No shorts can be worn in the lobby in the evening. They are also located near the airport and you hear the planes take off very late at night and early in the morning. They do however, have a great Mexican restaurant on the top floor and they serve the best table-side guacamole. (They are closed on Tuesday).
