San Juan Dining Recommends
Will be traveling to San Juan, looking for some recommendations for nice places to have late breakfasts/brunches/lunches in the San Juan or old San Juan area? Wondering if you can you dine at the El Convento for breakfast or lunch, or do you have to be a guest of the hotel? Thanks!

Bombonera in Old San Juan is a sort of classic breakfast destination -- kind of a diner with bow-tied waiters. For lunch, I like Aguaviva -- amazing choices for ceviche and yummy watermelon sangrias; it's a hip, cool-looking space with great food.

Yes, you can dine at El Convento for any meal, whether you're a guest or not. I think their breakfasts are fairly standard but their lunches really shine and the atmosphere is really nice, too. I also love Agua Viva, the same place Callaloo mentions above, but I've only been there for dinner and can't comment on lunch/brunch.

For a breakfast in Old San Juan, consider La Bombonera (one of the oldest cafe / restaurants in OSJ.
