Romantic Vac.Nevis/Anguilla

We were in Nevis Christmas 1998. The Nisbett Plantation is a beautiful ocean front resort. It is very elegant. There are plantations in the mountains, but it is quite a drive to the beach. However, these plantations are very romantic and quiet if you do not care about the beach. In fact, Princess Di vactioned at one. E mail me for info if you are interested. I have not been to Anguilla. We have been looking at places there, though. Cap Jaluca is a very expensive, all inclusive resort there. Other than that, I only know of more moderate beach hotels.
How is the beach at Nisbet? My husband and I have travelled to the Caribbean for the last six years and our first priority is always the beach! Is it good for swimming and snorkeling? Is it private? Is it good for long walks? Thanks in advance!

Hi Holly;

We were @ the 4 Season's/Nevis some years ago when they first opened. They seemed to be on the right track. The only drawback was no fans in the bathrooms...can be a bit of a problem at times! Otherwise the food was very good, the beach was quite nice, the shopping on resort, good and the golf course very challenging and beautiful. Lots of tennis (under lights) as well. I don't know how it is right now, but if it is still a 4-seasons, ( I wonder if it is the Westin that was posted by your other respondee's since Westin bought out a number of four seasons properties?) I'm sure it has only gotten better. Good Luck, and if you go there, I'd love it if you could keep us posted! Thanks, Michelle
