Romantic Hotel on TCI?

Romantic Hotel on TCI?
Husband and I have a chance for a three day break in early November. Would be leaving from a business meeting in Miami area and wondered if there was a romantic hotel you would recommend on TCI? We've been planning to go to Harbour Island in the Bahamas but have always been interested in seeing TCI. From the posts here, however, it sounds like it's just one big hotel or condo complex after another.
We enjoy just relaxing and great dinners.
Any advice?

There are a lot of resorts on Grace Bay, but the beach is HUGE. There are several smaller resorts on the beach that are very nice.
When we went last year, we walked up past the last resort on the beach, and got to places where our footprints were the only ones on the beach.
We're going back this November. We're returning to the Royal West Indies resort.
I haven't been here for a while, but the last time I was researching our first trip to TCI, there were a lot of posts from a member name Howard that were very informative. You might search for those posts.
This is a wonderful island for just relaxing and good food.
I would recommend looking into RWI. I know that Howard usually stays at Coral Gardens and highly recommends it. He just posted a trip report on his 13th stay there.

There is a non-stop flight to Provo, so try the Turks & Caicos Club - very romantic and quiet and very pretty. Coral Garden can be very crowded and they are condotel (condo rentals.)

I second Parrot Cay for romance. I've never been, but when we were in TCI last month we spoke w/a couple in the airport who had just finished up a week long stint at PC. They loved it and said it is fantastic and very private.
Another suggestion would be Grace Bay Club. The only difference is that it's on Grace Bay Beach (in Provo), home to many of the condo resorts so it's more crowded than Parrot Cay.
I've heard that Meridian Club on Pine Cay is also great. Like Parrot Cay, you take a short trip from the airport in Provo to the smaller island.
Provo is getting built up and there is a lot of construction going on. It's a great island, but if you're looking for romance you might consider the short and convenient trip from Provo to Parrot Cay (they have a representative at the airport in Provo that escorts you to the resort). At Parrot Cay, breakfast and dinner and I believe cocktails are included in the rate.

Thanks for all of the great advice. Parrot Cay seems a bit pricey (they don't say if it includes food) but I'll look further. Don't think we're interseted in listening to construction noise

I encourage you to explore Meridian Club. I have never been (it's on my wish list though !)...their prices are far more reasonable than Parrot Cay. I believe breakfast and dinner are included at Meridian.
It has a more tranquil setting than any of the places right on Grace Bay, but still that beautiful sand and crystal clear water.
I'll try to top some recent reports for you !

Well, i just re read my post, should check my spelling before posting!! obviously it was supposed to be "club", don't even know what I hit to get that little face!!! Unfortunately, the noise was a real detraction for me on our April trip. I also would be looking into Meridian Club for a return visit, or at least PC at its lowest season rates.Let us know what you decide! Carol

It is funny, it was an accident, which was sort on target...What key is that little guy anyway??? GBC was sooo nice, minus the noise factor, in truth. I sitll always have fantastic vacations despite the short comings, but I believe people deserve to know what may disturb them! Some times I am humorous w/o trying

I'm a fan of Meridian Club but you should be aware that it is almost opposite the "tone" of luxury of Parrot Cay. Some people are uncomfortable with the simplicity of Meridian Club. Parrot Cay has the beautiful beach and sea but is more obviously luxurious. (Pls don't misinterpret, MC is my favorite place to visit to unwind and appreciate life and spouse.)

Ahh...but it's a grand old, name. I was named for my grandmother.
Our spelling, with the "o" is actually the masculine spelling...especially in the South. Think "The Swamp Fox" from Civil War times and of course, John Wayne. I still get mail addressed to MR. Marion ;-)

We have looked into staying at Harbour Club Villas, they sound fantastic away from the construction noice and great access to the Dive boats and fantastic bonefishing? Has Anyone info on Harbour Club Villas?

harbour club villas, are definately quiet with no construction around them, they are not close to anything!!! At night is gets dark back there! I have only been past them, but they are NOT close to any excursions dive boats or anything for that matter, unless they offer their own. Most excursions go out of Leeward Marina, on the other side of the island. I did try to use their restroom one time, and they yelled at me for trespassing. You are away from everything there, restaurants, decent beaches, etc.

Blamona, Hi Thanks for the reply. We plan on renting a car and exploring different beaches for snorkling each day. So we figured since we will be out and about each day and we are traveling with kids it would nice to have the room of a villa in a quiet spot we can always explore but have the peace. Any other suggestions? Any great snorkeling spots easy to reach, that are not to be missed?
