RIU in the Bahamas

Any thoughts/comments???? 7 or 8 couples want to go AI in Oct. and this is a very afforable place for everyone, but it gets mixed-to-lousy reviews on tripadvisor.com. Any comments would be appreciated.

Hi, sorry, I have no personal experience with the Riu. All I wanted to say is that if you're reading mixed reviews at TA then you can expect anything. I have stayed at two hotels recently and both got very mixed reviews as well at TA. Some of the negative things I read about we also experienced. Yet, in general, we had a satisfactory stay at each hotel.

Therefore, it wouldn't matter what anyone here has to say. It all depends on your luck when you arrive at the hotel.

I just wanted to put my two cents in about TA, as well. I think it's an awesome site, but there are some atrocious reviews about caneel bay in stj and i loved it there. i'm also a four seasons type of traveler, so my expectations were high...some crazy bad reviews though. good luck!

Thanks for the thoughts. I am used to reading mixed reviews, but I feel really responsible since it is a large group. I am not a fan of AI's and there is not a lot to choose from.
I'll keep reading.....

I have actually head some good things about the RIU on PI, nice location and the beach on PI is beautiful.

You also might look into the Raddison on Cable Beach which also offers an AI program, as well as the Sandals just down the road. The Sandals property is beautiful, nice rooms and private beach, and a cute little cay that offers a bar/cafe.

Hope this helps.
