Recommends for first time family

My husband has won a trip for us (myself, my husband, and 7 yo "very active" daughter ..) to the Caribbean. The only catch is that we're limited to either a Marriott or Ritz-Carlton. Anyone have recommendations?

Kansas Family, I stayed at the Ritz in Jamaica. I love Jamaica and have been there many times, but...
The Ritz there is new and beautiful but very unJamaica. The grounds are not lush and the beach is rocky. Look into the new Ritz in St. Thomas or the one in Cancun. Both I have heard are fantastic. I am sure you won't be dissapointed which ever one you choose, a free trip is always a treat.
I just read again that Marriott is an option, do a Ritz! You only live once and it's FREE!!

We stayed at the Ritz Carlton in Puerto Rico 3 years ago and loved it. We also stayed at the Ritz in St. Thomas and loved that too. Heard that a new spa for the Ritz in St. Thomas is in the Making. Also stayed at the Marriott in Aruba 4 years ago, although Aruba was not our type of island, the hotel was great.

Marriott in Aruba will have more to do for a smaller child. St. Thomas is also very nice, but not as "Western" as Aruba.
