radisson chair battle

I am going in late june. should i expect the typical battle over beach and poolside chairs, or are there enough to go around?

Someone had to ask what island when it was a so no brainer that it was Aruba. There are some behaviors that are unique to Aruba goers and the hut and chair race is particualar to them.

ummm- No, you are the no brainer or at least limited in your travels... That game gets played out in every tourist level resort in the Caribbean.

xxx - You can be a little nicer in your comments. Giggles was just simply making a comment.

xxx - Watch yourself xxx. Ever went back to take a look at how many discussions you're in everyday? HAHAHHAAH! Thanks for the good laugh. By the way, that person was right in one of the others posts, you are the rudest person on this message board. I've seen your posts in numerous topics and they are just down right rude. Who agrees with me out there that xxx is the rudest person on this message board?

To xxx:
I'm really puzzled by your response. I've traveled to nin Caribbean islands and have NEVER seen this chair-grabbing ritual. Maybe I've been lucky enough to avoid resorts where guests behave in this fashion, or maybe, just maybe, it's really not all THAT prevalent.
Curious...how people's perceptions of the same place are so different.

"xxx" strikes me as the type that would stay at a resort like that...I haven't witnessed the chair grabbing ritual either.

I am NOT sticking up for "xxx" , but I have experienced "chair grabbing" at several resorts in Mexico and the Caribbean. People get out there early and stake out their territory. Some chairs just have towels and books on them most of the day---no people. They just want to make sure the chair is there for them when they decide they want it.

For Gail?
I'm not doubting this happened to you, but I am curious as to where it happens. If you don't mind me asking...
Where have you experienced the chair-grabbing? I'm guessing by Mexico, perhaps Cancun?
What Caribbean islands (and specific resorts) have you experienced this?
Thanks!

have to agree....I have seen that chair robbing routine at more resorts than I can remember, not all, but most.

To suggest it is unique to Aruba is mildly amusing to me.

Gail,
Thanks for the info. I guess I'm not surprised at the Cancun, St. Thomas and Atlantis report, but was a little surprised that you experienced this in Barbados. Gee...I thought people behaved so "properly" on that very British island. (grin)
