To Knowing, I want try and ease your concerns about considering Mexico and the Royal Hideaway. Neither my wife or I had ever been to Mexico, we were also very concerned about getting sick from eating/drinking something that was "bad". In our previous trips to Jamaica(Sandals & Beaches) food/drink wasn't a concern as we figured that Sandals wouldn't have won the TA award for best vacation resort(11 yrs?) if people were getting sick. But the Royal Hideaway's food was better than any of the Sandals restaurants we ate at. Although not EVERY food item was great tasting(I experimented with lots of different foods I don't eat at home) I simply can't emphasize enough how much we enjoyed our meals at RH!! The service and pampering we received was unbelievable to us, we could only imagine VIPs would get treated like royalty. You do pay a lot of $$$ to stay here, but, I don't know how anyone who stayed here and received the same treatment my wife and I had, could be disappointed. It was a GREAT WAY for us to celebrate our 25th anniversary. Good luck !!

BadgerPride,
Once more, thank you so very much. My husband has OCD, so he is extremely particular about eating bad food. He actually is sensitive to certain foods anyway. Jamaica was actually the first Caribbean island we had ever been to - a Sandals like you. We went having no fear as even my parents had loved Jamaica. Our big concerns are about cleanliness, comfortable beds, having a place to sit by a good sized pool, good food and something to do (my husband would love to play volleyball with someone). We have also looked at the Riu Palace and the Dreams Suites. We put great value into what you said about the hospitality and the service at RH and appreciate it. We hope to make a decision in the next few weeks. Thanks again.
