Questions on Bahamas (Radisson Cable Beach & Atlantis) with young child
I'm planning an all-inclusive trip to the Bahamas with my wife and 15 month old. Request guidance on the following items:
1) Is this kind of vacation too much for such a young child?
2) Relating to above: I'm thinking of staying 8 days since the cost per day is a better deal. But is 8 days way too much for my child?
3) I'm looking at the Radisson Cable Beach. Any recent comments on this resort?
4) Should I consider paying more to go to the Atlantis Paradise Island?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Can't really answer the part about the 15 month old -- only you know your child -- but I'd go with the Radisson for the following reasons:
Atlantis, although beautiful, is VERY expensive and a taxi to get off Paradise Island is also expensive.
The Radisson is on Cable Beach, more or less in the middle of the island. There is a bus that will stop at the front door that will take you downtown or basically anywhere you want to go.
The Radisson is a smaller resort and is in walking distance to a casino and other restaurants if you want a little variety.
You'll be able to relax more at the smaller resort.
Just a suggestion, but if you decide to ditch the all-inclusive aspect the Nassau Beach Hotel, two hotels away, is very cozy and can be gotten for a song.
A question for you: What does an AI charge for a 15 month old? Is it free? Half price? Full price?

I know that all kids are different but I was hoping for some feedback about other young children at the caribbean. There are programs for kids 4+ so where does that leave younger kids. Should I expect a few other kids less than age 2 for my child to play with?
As far as I know, most AIs are free for kids under 2. I also think many are free for kids under 4 but a airplane seat must be purchased if > age 2.

If you're concerned about whether or not your 15 month old will have good time; it doesn't matter. Children that age can grow more enthralled with a tiny, green worm inching across the sidewalk than a million dollar water slide. A beach scene with wading in the H20 with mom and dad, and making sand castles would be delightful, no matter how inexpensive the hotel. Cable Beach has a nice beach; I agree with Al's suggestions and the reco's for other places than Atlantis. In fact, the crowd at Atlantis may, logistically and patience-wise, interfere with your child's good time (and yours). Robert
