we are looking for laid back lodging for our honeymoon. we would like to refrain from a hotel-type atmosphere, but like the idea of all inclusives. we're looking at possibly two weeks, for hopefully under 3,000. from nyc. we would love to be close to charter boats and fishing. thanks for any help.

If you mean $3000 per person it may be possible but if you mean $3000 (including air) for two at an all-inclusive for two weeks that may be much harder to find.

Hi James: $3,000 is do-able especially if you do a travel package, like Apple Vacations. However, they do have their pros and cons. The prices are very good and you can check out their specials at applevacations.com just to get an idea, but they do have tendency to let you sit at airports due to unexplainable delays. I've gone through them for three trips and of the three, got screwed once on the way down (delayed at O'Hare for 9 hours). Chances are you'll be fine and won't experience any problems but there is that possibility.

Try looking into the Out islands if the Bahamas. There are some smaller resorts there, most however not all-inclusives, but with a more laid back atmsophere, very romantic and private with empty beaches and without all the crowds of larger resorts and fishing and charter boats are easy to find out there!
