Puerto Rico - 3 DAYS

Hello,

I need help with planning my 3Nts/3Day trip to Puerto Rico.

Please suggest places and things we can do in 3 days.

We are not too keen on spending all our time at the beach, we would rather explore the island.

Also, we are planning to stay at the Hlton at San Juan and Ponce, any thoughts?

Thanks,
Winnie

With only 3 days I'd pick a spot & stay there, & I'd likely just stay in OSJ. Ponce is a stop-over destination @ best. W/only 3 days the only exploring you'd be doing would be from inside the car. From OSJ you can visit El Yunque, as well as Luquillo Beach.

I agree with SAnParis, stay in OSJ and visit EL Morro on day one, walk around OSJ. On day two take a hike in the rainforest (El Yunque). Set off early as it's usually a little clearer in the mornings but expect rain anyway. Take your swimsuit if you decide to hike to La Mina falls. Climb the look out tower for good views. Spend the afternoon at Luquillo beach. Check the luna calendar and if there's little or no moon consider a trip to the biobay at Fajardo or taking the catamaran trip over to Vieques for the biobay.
Day 3 could be a snorkeling trip, a trip to the caves, a trip to the Bacardi factory, beach time, casino visit or shopping in OSJ depending on your interests.

I definitely recommend adding to the OSJ sites a night kayak trip to the Bioluminescent Bay. This is one of the few places in the world where the micro-organisms light up the water at night--its amazing! It's pretty easy to arrange for a trip where one of the companies will pick you up at your hotel in San Juan and bring you back when the trip is done.

Thanks everybody for great suggestions. We know that 3 days are not enough, but all your suggestions seems like we will have a good time

Rent a car, grab a map and choose your own destinations. PR is a very large island, w/ many many things to see and do. You're right; 3 days is not enough time........
ps....Vieques is great... You said you're not a beach lover, but take a little time to check out Flamenco Beach... It's one of the most beautiful in the Caribbean

Don't miss the rain forest! It is just incredible, sometimes they have a trip to Loquio beach (which is our favorite) and the rain forest, both a must see!

Correction___ I'm meant to say Culebra, not Vieques when talking about Flamenco Beach..

In three days I went Horse back riding, snorkeling, saw the old spanish lighthouse ruins, stayed at a unique tropical bamboo tree house, went zip lining, cliff rappelling, cave exploring, tasted exotic ice cream flavors, went kayaking at night into the glowing Bioluminescent bay, walked through the san juan market place, ate authentic Puerto Rican cuisine, checked out some San Juan nightlife spots, and relaxed some more in bamboo treehouse!

Here is the video footage

Look in the caption for links to all the destinations in the footage.
