Planning a USVI Honeymoon

My fiance and I are planning to spend our two-week honeymoon in the U.S. Virgin Islands. We would like to spend time on each of the three islands and also take a day trip or two to the BVI. We would like to stay at top resorts that have a casual atmosphere (i.e. we have decided against the Ritz).
Any recommendations?

Forgot to mention that the honeymoon will be in June 2000.

Julie,

Haven't been to STT or STJ, but just returned from St. Croix, stayed at the Buccaneer (www.thebuccaneer.com) and had a wonderful, relaxing time...it is a beautiful, relaxing resort on the ocean...you get a complimentary full breakfast with your room (get an oceanfront suite if you can) and there is good snorkeling in front of the hotel...we enjoyed a day sail to Buck Island to snorkel too...ate at some good restaurants...good luck.
Jane,
Thanks for the info on St. Croix. I'll be sure to look into the Buccaneer. We were considering the Carambola Beach Resort. Do you know anything about it? We've heard great things about Buck Island and plan on taking a trip there. Also, do you know if it is worth it to go horseback riding there? It seems to be heavily promoted.

Julie,

No, I really don't know much about the Carambola, except that my husband and I drove to it one day and we stopped and looked around, we were thinking about having lunch there, but we didn't - the grounds were very lush and green, forest-like, lovely! I have heard that their golf course is the best one on STX but that the snorkeling at their beach wasn't so good, but I'll let those who have stayed there give you their first-hand impressions...the cruise to Buck Island was great, we went with "Big Beard's" in general, we liked St. Croix alot and I think you will as well.
