Philadelphia to Punta Cana via Tampa??

Good evening!

I am trying to find a flight from Philadelphia to Punta Cana, while passing through Tampa...for a good rate-haha!

Ive found flights connecting through Miami, which doesnt really work so well (5 hour drive to Tampa).

The only other alternative I found was to fly PHL to TPA, then TPA to MIA, then MIA to PUJ, but its just soooo expensive to do that...

Is anyone familiar with a flight that departs from PHL (or even BWI) and connects through TPA versus through MIA?

Thanks very much!

Is there a particular reason you want to stop in Tampa? There are direct flights to Punta Cana from PHL.

Hi schmerl! Thanks for the response!

I was hoping to stop in TPA to visit my parents and to drop off my dog (they offered to watch her while I was in PC).

I mentioned to them that flights seem to go through MIA only but, do to the distance, they werent willing to meet me over there (to say hi and pick up my dog).

Thanks again and suggestions are welcome! Have a great night!

Nature Girl, I live in Tampa, and Spirit Airlines flies from Tampa to Punta Cana...I don't know if it's direct or not, probably it goes through Ft Lauderdale (a much better airport IMO than Miami). They often have cheap cheap air flights...check them out! It seems like you'll have to do a roundtrip Phl to Tpa, then a separate trip, roundtrip Tpa to Punta Cana. I often travel to Philly, best airlines are USAir, Southwest, and Air Tran (the last one always connects in Atlanta at least one way).

Good luck!
