Parrot Cay Questions
I considering Parrot Cay in May 2005 and have a few questions...
1) Do they offer any pool/beach service and if so, is it sparse?
2) Do I need to eat all of my meals at the resort or are there other options?
3) Are there TVs/phones in room?
4) If you were looking for beautiful surroundings, but great service too, would you stay on Parrot Cay or Grace Bay?
Thanks

1. My recollection is that there is pool service, but no beach service (but pool is very close to beach).
2. You have to eat all meals at resort (unless you want to take a 1/2 hour boat ride to Provo). Parrot Cay is on a private island. That being said there are two restaurant options and both are good.
3. Yes on phones and TVs in room.
4. Haven't been to Grace Bay, but I am well traveled and thought that Parrot Cay had good, but not great service. When I was there (2 1/2 yrs. ago), the pool bartender was sometimes MIA and on more than one occassion I had to fetch my own towel at the pool. We had excellent service in the restaurants, spa, and in the room.

Just returned from Parrot Cay ...reply from outofoffice is correct although we had great service at pools and bar. It is a beautiful resort and very well run, the staff are extemely plentiful, friendly and helpful. Two restaurants, both very good but extremely expensive ($32 for a personal gourmet pizza ) , are your only options on island. Breakfast is great and included with the room charge. Rooms are very tropical , with ceramic floors and mosquito netting, large porches with a wonderful settee to snuggle up in . The pool area is beautiful with an infinity pool and lots of padded chaises, and just a short walk from the beach, which is about 1 mile long and nice but not great. The best part of the whole trip was sharing the resort with Paul McCartney and family..apparently celebrities love this place as Keith Richards popped in our last day! Bottom line...beautiful resort on an OK island (St Johns is prettier)but very expensive and isolated by the 30 minute boat ride (a very bumpy one!) to Providentiales for such activities as snorkeling, diving, etc. I would have gone crazy if we had been there a week but it was a beautiful respite for the 4 days we were there.
