Palm Island

Has anyone ever been to Palm Island, off the coast of Barbados. I will be spending a week there for my Honeymoon, at Palm Island Resort, and a week in Barbados at The House. So if anyone has informarion on any of these location it would be helpful. We were considering a Saldals resort, but I think that might be a little to main streem for us..Thanks!

Sounds like you have a fabulous honeymoon planned and I hope you get your married life off to a great start. FYI, Palm Island isn't off the coast of Barbados. It's in the Grenadines island chain, but Barbados is usually considered a gateway to get there.

Thanks, I'm learning so much about that area, so have you been there? I have not met one person that has, and it makes me just a little nervous...I know it will be great, I just want to know what to expect..

I was at Palm Island when I took a day sail to the Grenadines in December, but did not stay there. It looks a little sleepy, but is absolutely stunning. Beautiful, clear water, white sand beach, little beach bar that we had drinks at. Doesn't get much prettier. You should also be able to go on a number of day sails to the other Grenadine Islands while you are there. Not to be missed! Do not be nervous. All of the islands that we went to were beautiful. The sailing was like paradise. There are a couple of people on this forum who may be able to assist you with more information.

Gerry and I stayed at Palm Island two years ago and loved it. Great accomodations, food and beautiful beaches. The beach is featured in CT&L this month. We stayed at Coral Reef Club in Barbados and would recommend over The House. Check out www.tripadvisor.com. Have fun!

Also, go to the Barbados section of this forum and find Lois' Barbados tip sheet. She has recommendations for hotels, beaches, restaurants etc. Her e-mail address is on the post and she will e-mail them to you for free.

I agree with Lisager15 about Coral Reef Club. It is the class act on Barbados. The house is a jazzed up section of Tamarind Hotel, a fairly average place.

HI -

We are also going to Palm Island and Barbados for our honeymoon - plan to spend 11 nights on palm island and 7 on barbados - but just wondering should we switch it to spend more time on barbados instead? any thoughts anyone?

There are three Sandals on St. Lucia, Sandals Halcyon (smallest of the three), Sandals Grande, and Sandals Regency. Of those, I like Halcyon best. The best beach of the ones you ask about is by far the one at Sandals Negril. St. Lucia is not noted for awesome beaches.

Cairo, switch to a longer stay on Barbados. Palm Island is a sleepy tiny island where you hang on the beach. Barbados has as much sightseeing and other activities, that you need 2-3 times the time on Plam.
