The Ritz Carlton, definately not a party hotel. In Isla Verde, on a very nice beach and it is a bit removed from the main drag in Isla Verde (10 minute walk). It is quieter than the area where most hotels and restaurants are located and that includes the beach. A minor problem - very close to an airport runway so airplane noise can be intrusive.

THe Hyatt Dorado Beach is LOVELY. THe rooms are on the beach with four poster colonial beds, celing fan, terrace and we slept without the air conditoning the entire time, listening to the ocean!<BR>I would highly recommend this hotel, but NOT the other Hyatt (Cerromar)! THere is absolutely NO PARTYING at this hotel.

Although the Ritz-Carlton itself is a pretty quiet hotel, Isla Verde is not. It's a very busy area. If you truly want seclusion/non-partying you might want to look outside of the San Juan area. If you do want to stay in San Juan, the Ritz-Carlton would be an excellent choice (Marriott is nice as above poster indicates but no comparison to the Ritz Carlton).

I will have to go with the Wyndham El Conquistador in Fajardo as my favorite "resort" in Puerto Rico. Having been to the Hyatt Cerromar, Doral Palmas del Mar and Hilton Ponce. The Conquistador is a sprawling resort with every amenity you can imagine. This affords the resort with enough space to have "quiet" when you want it and various activities when you want more. I've recommended the resort to freinds and family and all have come back extremely pleased that they took my advice. If you do decide to go, make sure you sign up for "Wyndham-By-Request". This gives quite a bit of extras not offered to other guests. Any more specific questions, feel free to ask!
