Long Bay Resort, Tortola, villa too steep?
Planning vacation with adult daughter & her boyfriend. LBBR only offers hillside villas with 2 bedrooms. Some reports complain of steep access. Having stayed at the top of Anse Chastanet, I know I don't want to do that again. Are these villas that bad?
Also, has anyone played their par-3 course?

Stayed at both Anse Chastanet and LBBR. I know what you mean about AC! We decided that it enabled us to eat and drink more, getting all that extra exercise
Anyway, AC was much steeper and higher up than our villa at LBBR. Also, the path to the beach was a diagonal, with stepping stones, so it didn't feel very steep. At the time we were there, several years ago, the par-3 course was a joke. Kind of like miniature golf. Now I'm not a golfer, so take that with a grain of salt!
P.S. The villas are gorgeous, the second bedroom was upstairs and had its own wetbar, balcony, and bathroom. I'd take that bedroom if I were the mom! (even though it's more steps)

Bringing your clubs would be a total waste. Consistency of the turf is faux-crabgrass. The course isn't really a course...just a few flags planted about. Picture rural US and the 1 - 2 grassy acres most farmers have around their home. Add 9 flags and you've got LBBR's course. I love LBBR but I really can't imagine why they even bother with the attempt at a "golf course".
No worries!

I kinda looked at that hill up to the villas and passed. Thought it more appropriate for the billy goats! Guests said that they were promised a ride if requested but that didn't materialize and "too" steep would be a matter of perspective. Too steep for me no doubt but did hear that the views were great!

Stayed in a villa at Long Bay in '97 for honeymoon. Was the most beautiful place I ever been!I've travelled several islands in Carribbean. Walk up hill is fairly steep although lots of paths and steps and was well worth the spectacular view!! Highly recommended

I have to concur with others that the hill is no particular problem. Sure, if you forgot your sunglasses when you'd just reached the bottom you'd be pretty annoyed at the walk back up, but it's fairly short and unless you're a real couch-potato or quite aged you should feel no qualms whatsoever.
And wrt that par 3 course... FORGET IT!
