Off the beaten path things to do in Jamaica, Montego Bay
Trip is set Apr.12-17,2010 Staying at Holiday Inn Sun Spree. Heard good and bad but its set. Traveling with grown kids & Granddaughter 8 people total and I'M GOING TO HAVE A GREAT TIME.
My wife and I really appreciate word of mouth experienced advice and we have some questions:
SNORKELING at hotel. Is this OK or should we go someplace else? Is Hotel equipment good or should we bring our own?
RENTAL CARS to tour or use tour vendors? which ones?
OFF PATH IDEAS local or away?
SHOPPING best places.
FESTIVALS EVENTS worth seeing.
GOLF ah almost forgot know a really good place?
ANY OTHER GOOD INFO.
MONEY(thanks Hon) should we convert to Jamaican here or there?
Thanks,
Ruth & John West Pa.

Holiday inn is a great places to stay especially when traveling with kids. They have a nice water slide which our kids would love. Snorking can be done at the resort. Renting a car is a good idea but driving on the left can be very difficult especially for someone who live in the states. I would encourage to use a reputable tour company like:
www.explorerjamaica.com and www.jamaicatransportationservice-tours.com/ I have the privilege of using both services on different occasion visiting Jamaica. For places to see and go, I would recommend you visit: Y.S. Falls, Dunn's river Falls and the Mystic Mountain rain forest park Ocho rios. Golfing Is great in Halfmoon, just 10 minutes from your resort. Finally, make sure you exchange your money at a cambio and not a bank, because the cambio give more for one. Have a wonderful time in Jamaica! great pleace to be.
