I also heard Accra Beach Resort was nice (around $160/night) Another is Peach & Quiet- small, quaint place. (Featured in Conde Nast Traveller as inexpensive place to stay) Cheap! I think it was $80/night with breakfast! Beach area is rocky but pretty. Lovely hosts. A fine place to overnight.

You might consider Sand Acres or Bougainvillea Beach -- the latter being only 3 years old and a great place. It's MUCH closer to the airport than Accra Beach Resort which is towards Bridgetown. I can get you some other names if those I mention are not what you want.

Lois

Nancy-For the short amount of time you'll have in Barbados, best bet would be Sand Acres, sister property of Bougainvillea Beach Resort. If you have time for dinner upon your arrival, head to David's in St Lawrence Gap-as a previous poster mentioned, their flying fish dinner is a wonderful treat.

Regardless of where you stay close to the airport, don't bother with the Gap area currently - road work/sewer project has it mostly broken up. Many business having a hard time staying in business due to the disruption. This will continue for some time to come.

We did the same and found Acura (think that's how you speill it!) very comfortable and nice. A quick taxi to David's found us an unforgettable great flying fish dinner and a terrific host!
