Intercontinental Resort and Casino
Anyone have any info on this hotel? My boyfriend and I are planning to stay there. We are both in our mid-twenties. It seems like a great location, being it's close to the airport and there's things to do in the area. What are the best places to go in the area? And how are the watersports at the hotel/beach? Any info greatly appreciated!

Nice hotel. There have a number of posts regarding this hotel recently. Type "Intercontinental" into the search box.
For some nightlifel go to the El SaN Juan hotel next door. DAnce club is very popular. The hotels don't offer watersports but you will find, on the beach, just past the El SaN Juan people renting those machines that race around off the beach. Para sailing was available near the public beach in Isla Verde - go out to the street, walkl to the left past the El SaN Juan and the Ritz Carlton to find the people offering parasailing. You can't get there by walking along the beach. You will find suggestions for restaurants in some of the Intercontinental posts.

NO snorkling or scuba diving nearby. Snorkel day trips are available in Fajardo. The cost would be somewhere in the $65 range including transportation to Fajardo, about 35 miles east of the hotel. The boat takes you to an island off shore and refreshments are included. Did one of them many years back and I remember the snorkling was not that good.

I went parasailing a couple of years ago while in PR and if I remember correctly, it cost about $35. Jet skis are $50 (approx). Parasailing and jet skis are available right next to the El San Juan beach - a short walk down the beach from the Intercontinental (rqf - you don't have to walk to the Ritz-Carlton to find parasailing and/or jet skis).
