Drove past a couple of weeks ago. Sounds like they have accommodations open for 400 or so guests if you don't mind construction activity going on. Personally, I think it is an eyesore. But that doesn't mean it won't be somebody else's dream vacation spot.
Hopefully it'll boost a little bit of the economy in the Lucea area, but I doubt the impact will be anything other than possible employment opportunities.
The environmental transgressions apparently committed by the Spanish developer are another topic that should be discussed.

I agree CaribbeanSoul. It is a major eyesore as far as I am concerned, as are all the Spanish Hotels constructed in Jamaica...but oh well, we just live here. Our opinions don't count.
Apparently they will also have a casino there when the hotel is completed, so...
I didn't even realise it was open until a friend of mine went there recently. I'll try to get his opinion and post back here.

My friend advises that the property still isn't finished as yet and as such there are still a few glitches. He suggests giving them some time to get further along in completion but did mention that the rate US$100 for double occupancy was pretty nice.
He wasn't particularly impressed with the front desk service.
