Need help with picking a destination!!!

For Costa Rica, I wouldn't spend much time in San Jose or Liberia except a night on arrival and or departure. Some good places to visit in Costa Rica would be the Guanacaste region (NW), Tamarindo, Flamingo, etc are good areas they are beach areas and have alot to do. Another area is Manuel Antonio, I have not personally been there but have heard great things about it. Other areas we visited if you want to see some of the interior areas of Costa Rica were Arenal and Monteverde. There are also so many other places to see, just a wonderful diverse tourist friendly country. Suggest you get a good book and really do some reading and decide. It really would be a great place for 2 single women...lots of diversions, beauty, culture and opts for meeting fellow travellers.
Another place I can really recommend thats not Carib or Central America but Malta and Gozo in the Med is a true gem if you are into gorgeous water, though beaches mostly rocky, incredible coastlines combined with historic sights (temples on Gozo predate the pyramids in Egypt), extremely friendly locals and good food. Highly recommended and recommend 2 weeks, visit both islands.
