Moving to St Thomas
My job is transferring me to St John, though it is likely that I will live on St Thomas, probably somewhere close to the ferry that goes to St John or at least close to a bus line that will get me to the ferry.
My question is this:
Are there places I would not want to live on St Thomas? Mostly concerned about "good" neighborhoods vs. bad.
Thanks for any help.

For a wealth of information and answers to all your questions about moving to and living in the USVI's check out the USVI relocation form and web-site at: www.vimovingcenter.com
It's a great site with tons of information and a very active talk forum. Read it thoroughly. Also get a copy of the Settler's Handbook, it's a MUST read for anyone contemplating a move to the islands. You can use the link on the web-site or get it from Amazon.com

If your company has enough business in the USVI to transfer you to St. John, wouldn't they have information regarding places to live? Also, would it be too expensive to live on St. John? Housing can be extremely expensive in St. John, but long term rentals are not out of the question. I would check out the Virgin Islands Daily News. Also, there are posters on this board who currently live or have lived on St. Thomas.

FWIW---On the ferry recently, I met some people that were in your exact situation(transplanted workers) and one lived in condos/apts above Red Hook(where the ferry docks) and the other lived on St. John at Guinea Grove Apts(near the Westin). They both enjoyed where they lived.
