Luxury resort with great diving

I am looking for a luxury resort in the Caribbean with great diving and hopefully from shore snorkeling. Can you one suggest such a resort? I would really appreciate it!

We will be going next December so no Bahamas or Turks & Caicos or anything else that might not have warm weather.

Harbour Village Beach club in Bonaire, the diving is very good, whether the resort is luxury enough for someone from the US, I cannot comment. Diving is the main thing in Bonaire, not beaches since they don't have (many) sandy beaches.

We're here on Bonaire right now. If Harbour Village isn't luxurious enough, how about a vacation rental? There are some lovely properties on the island.

The food here is amazing. This is our second trip, we haven't had a bad meal yet.

Best diving with luxury:

Turks and Caicos (December can be gorgeous)
Caymans
virgin Islands (although resorts are upscale, they are more "rustic" luxury)

Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman. Diving easily arranged, many excellent dive operations on Grand Cayman. Off the snorkeling further north on Seven Mile Beach

Carambola Beach Resort on St. Croix -- swim out to a wall dive! The other luxury resort on Croix is the Buccaneer - it is closer to mid-island and a good location for exploration and snorkeling (although the best diving and some of the very best snorkeling is on the North Shore close to Carambola).

Another vote for Grand Cayman. The Ritz will be pricey, but you did say you wanted luxury.

Plenty of shore snorkeling to be found all around the island.

If not Bonaire, then perhaps St. Lucia. Anse Chastanet is a luxury resort that specializes in diving.

But Cayman might be an even better destination. Great diving and some resorts have good shore snorkeling, though they aren't generally on the beach. But great beaches are always close by. Lots of excellent dive companies on Grand Cayman as well as great resorts, but there is a resort on Little Cayman that offers everything (specialty in diving and excellent food on a nice beach). It's called Pirates Point.

Oh ... and of course Caneel Bay on St. John. That would be an excellent choice.

Maybe Peter Island resort off of Tortola?

...but I love love love the suggestion about Anse Chastanet -- or maybe Jade Mountain, their uber-excellent sister resort. Waking up looking at the Pitons each morning before getting ready for a spectacular day of diving would be my idea of perfect.
