Looking for a good resort in Aruba

We are looking for a good resort in Aruba. Not all that interested in an all-inclusive. Have heard lots of bad reports about food, drinks, etc... Looking for relaxing atmosphere, great service and close access to nightlife. And sandy beaches with great views of course. Any suggestions.

I've not stayed there, but my friend stayed at the Wyndham not too long ago and raved about it. If you prefer not to have a high-rise hotel, you might want to check out Bucuti, which is on a very wide stretch of beach.

Second the recommendation of Bucuti - wonderful place, very relaxed and friendly atmosphere, and right on a beautiful huge stretch of beach (much nicer than the highrises).

i would highly recommend the sonesta-right in town, very safe and clean, convenient to everything, private island, bus to palm beach easily--see my previous response to a recent post

Hi,
there is a debate here on what is the "best" resort. If you want a boutique type hotel Bucuti seems to win.
In Aruba I wanted the resort kind of feel, We stayed at the Hyatt and thought it was the very very best on the island (others feel as strongly about the Radisson)

What kind of vacation are you looking for will dictate what part of the island you want to stay on.

We stay at the Marriott in Aruba. Great Beach. This year we actually stayed at the Ocean Club owned by Marriott instead of the hotel. Right next door. Where ever you stay be sure to have dinner at the restaurant at the Marriott - right on the beach - very romantic and the food was great.
