Looking at Punta Cana - Dreams vs. Paradisus
Someone mentioned that the Sunscape or Allegro has changed over to a Dreams resort in Punta Cana. Is there a lot of refurbishment and renovations that need to be completed or is this resort 100%?
I am looking at the Dreams - Punta Cana vs the Paradisus Punta Cana.
I'd love any insight you can provide.
Imprtant to us is:
Beach and ocean
Service and Food Quality
Rooms - contemporary and beautiful
We do not have children, do not need a lot of activities, and we do not care about casinos, golf, or nightlife.
Thanks in advance for any help that you can provide.

I absolutely adore Paradisus Punta Cana. We just returned a couple weeks ago from our 6th straight there. We always book Royal Service and find it is worth every cent. Service, food, rooms are all wonderful but nothing can compare to its amazing beach. If you stay at the Paradisus then walk the beaches of the other resorts you will see just how much better maintained they are. Whave traveled to many islands in the Caribbean and have decided to remain at the Paradisus Punta Cana since they offer everything we are looking for.
Take care, LisaS

Hi Lisa490,
Was wondering if you could help me with some questions on the Paradisus since you have been there often?
Was wondering do the men need collared shirts along with dress slacks? or are regular shirts ok?
( are slacks required for all rest.)
I also heard something about a passport book for the grounds where would you find this?
What restaraunts do you need to make reservations for? How do you go about doing that?
Any other hints would be great thanks you for all your help.
we are leaving for our trip on Monday morning cant wait.

Dreams Punta Cana NEVER closed. It was formerly Sunscape the Beach and began the transition in early December. We were there for New Years and loved it.
AMResorts was hired to manage the former Allegro and turn it into Sunscape Punta Cana. After taking over and realizing the amount of work that needed to be done the decision was made to skip over the Sunscape and turn it directly into Dreams Plam Beach. The resort closed on 06/01/08 and will reopen in December I believe.
