Beachbum, I am so sorry about this. There is nothing worse than trying to plan a special trip and having this type of thing happen From your post, I don't see any specifics on who you spoke with at KU or IV. Did you speak to the General Manager or Director of Marketing (as Howard mentioned) If not you should. First because they need to know and second because you won't get anywhere without dealing direct with a top manager.

I spent many years in hotel management and going through an hourly employee does not get you anywhere. If you speak to upper management and if they are really sold out they should make some attempt to help you.

There are many great places to stay on Anguilla and certinally you will find somewhere else, I bet you will find something you enjoy even more! Actually I was going to rent Bayberry at one point.

Please let us know what happens. Best of luck!!

I have left a message at Ku for the manager although I believe they are closed until the end of the month. I intend to be persistent.

Although we only dined at RBH, we had a thoroughly lovely experience. The staff was so helpful and friendly, I really can't even express it. (The manager ended up driving us back to our hotel when our cab didn't show up.) Not to mention that the food was delicious. And the owners were dining and socializing two tables away from us. I haven't seen the rooms, but RBH is on a beautiful stretch of beach. It seemed like a very casual and relaxed atmosphere with attention to good service. I had heard that the rooms had been/were being remodeled this year. Does anyone know for certain?

Just wanted to update. We are still going to Anguilla. We waited for any response/help from Ku or InternationalVacations, however, none was forthcoming. Finally, after a follow up on my end I was contacted by Delroy, the GM at Ku. I was told that he wanted to do something for us and that he would think about it and email me later that day or the next. Three days later, I called again and still have not heard anything. Needless to say, I am still extremely disappointed. My wife and I are still going to Anguilla, although at this point, I must say that some of the luster has been rubbed off of the Island. We have booked a room at Malliouhana and hopefully we are not disappointed. Again, Ku and International Vacations have totally disappointed us. I plan on waiting about three more days and then contacting the Conde Nast Ombusdman as I was advised to do.

On a positive note, thanks to all of you who have posted well wishes and other nice thoughts.

Don't worry Mali. is a very nice place! I am sure you will still have a fantastic trip. I have not stayed there, but we ate dinner and toured the property while staying at another hotel. It was lovely. I hope you have a wonderful trip!

I'm surprised that happened to you in of all places Anguilla!
You will still have a great trip-and Anguilla is worth it! 8-)
Do contact Ombusdman at Conde Nast-they will help you even if they don't publish your story in Conde Nast. My parents had a huge travel problem on a trip to Spain once, and they were great help!
You'll love Anguilla if your name is true Beachbum!
