Just Returned from T & C - Coral Gardens
Just returned a week ago from a five night stay and had a terrific time. We reserved a garden room but got upgraded to a one bedroom suite with an ocean view! Weather was cloudy the day we arrived but beautiful for the remaining days. Although I did not monitor the temperature it was perfect. We didn't need air conditioning, there was barely any humidity, and very few mosquitos. The snorkeling from the beach was great. We saw sea turtles, starfish/other beautiful fish. I would be glad to answer any questions....

Hi, I was wondering if you were able to eat at the Coyoba restaurant. Also, did you rent a car? What types of things were not provided in your suite that maybe you wish you had brought, and how nice that you received an upgrade. Our trip is going to be a surprise for my husband's birthday and I am trying to plan it out. We don't go until dec.! I can always dream. Did you by any chance play golf?

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. Yes, we ate at Coyoba twice. We enjoyed it so much the first time we went back a second. It's expensive but special - the setting is lovely. Do make a reservation. You can call the same day. We did not rent a car. There was nothing in particular we wanted to see on the island so we decide to call cabs for the evening we went to other locales for dinner. Cabs are expensive, particularly since they are doing alot of road construction and there are detours. However, taking cabs was still alot less than it would have been to rent a car.If you decide to rent a car, I would do it for one day to see sites, and then cab it for the rest. As far as bringing things, I wished we had brought more snack type items to hold us from breakfast through to dinner.
We didn't do any golfing. Let me know if you need other info. Enjoy!

We're going to T & C in May and I'm wondering how much roundtrip were the cabs to the various restaurants. We probably won't be doing too much sightseeing either other than the dive tours, sails, etc..
I'm estimating $25 roundtrip to the restaurants. Is that accurate?

Hi Kirbysgirl,
Was there any construction at Coral Gardens? If so, was the noise disturbing at all, either in the rooms or on the beach? I thought they were supposed to start building Phase III of the resort soon. Also, was there any problem getting chairs on the beach? Thanks.

Hi mw1000: While we had a glorious ocean view, our bedroom window faced the back of the property. We didn't use air conditioning and left windows open. In the early morning there was construction noise and noise from chattering cleaning staff. We are early risers so it didn't really matter and we didn't see construction or hear construction noise for he rest of the day- either on the beach or in the restaurants. There are about 12 or so beach umbrellas with 2 lounges underneath. These get taken early. One day people left towels to reserve and were never seen for the rest of the day. We ended up moving the towels and using the space. If you don't need an umbrella, Coral Gardens has plenty regular strapped lounge chairs. Charles - the beach guy serves sorbet on the beach at 2:00 every day and provides wonderful iced towels. He's a great guy and I have a hunch (but not sure) that if you offered him a couple of dollars that he might put towels down to reserve an umbrella for you.
