If I had one day, then I would go to Trunk bay with my four year old. It is beautiful, has some amenities (bathrooms, showers restaurant/snack bar) and an underwater trail with markers etc. If your child snorkels they'll love the trail, if not, do what I did, get a raft/float with a window in it and take them over where they can see the sites, markers, fish, etc. I did this,and then my daughter wanted to put on her mask to get a closer look. She liked that, and next thing I knew she wanted to try a snorkel to get an even better view.

I am thinking about staying at a place on the south end of Coral Bay, Stonewood Castle. It looks pretty far from the west side of the island, know anything about that area?

Hi Jim, <BR>We want to go to St. John & have been researching for weeks. Since you choose to eat-in can you tell me what grocery prices are like? For example - loaf bread, doz.eggs, 6 pk beer etc. (the essentials). Working on a budget and are looking to cut costs as much as possible. Thanks

Hi Tedd, <BR> You can take a taxi from the airport to Red Hook and then catch the ferry to St John. The ferry costs $3 and runs about every hour. You can find the exact ferry schedule at //www.st-thomas.com/week/ferries.html

Hi Jane, <BR> We rented a villa last year and brought meat with us. Froze it solidly before leaving home and packed in soft-sided cooler. We bought all other food items in St John grocery stores. I would estimate that groceries were 50 percent more expensive on St John than at home.

Not sure where Paul calls home, but prices are slightly higher on some things than here in the NYC area. No way near the 50% that Paul found!!

Not Jim! Caneel definitely! Great site at Turtle Bay Estate House too! Hard to pick one at Caneel ... there are seven and each with its very own "personality!"

The Turtle Bay Estate House at Caneel Bay would be a beautiful place to have your wedding ceremony. The house has a pretty terrace that overlooks the Turtle Bay beach and water.
