I was in Grand Cayman for a week from April 8 - 15th (second time there). It was hot, 85-90 each day, with a little morning rain and just one day of lots of rain.
Two must-do attractions are the snorkelling trip to Stingray City/Coral Reef, and a day at Rum Point. For the Stingray city trip, we used Red Sail Sports, out of the Hyatt, first-class all the way with an excellent lunch served on board; but for $60, we couldn't even get water for under $2! (Take your own)Many other operators go to Stingray City for $20 and up (and most give you free rum punch and snacks). This experience is fabulous.
Take the ferry from the Hyatt to Rum Point; great place to swing in the hammocks, have a frozen mudslide or Cayman Colada, and excellent lunch menu at the Wreck Bar. It rained the whole time we were at Rum Point but we had too much fun to notice!
Best places to eat: The Wharf and the Crow's Nest for dinner; The Landmark Inn (pub) in Georgetown for lunch; the Hyatt for Sunday Brunch (skip the Hyatt's Carribean night buffet/entertainment); also liked the Lone Star for tex mex and drinks; the oceanfront deck at the Royal Palms was a great place for drinks and live calypso music.
Finally, we found the most wonderful cab driver the first day there and he drove us around the island all week, he was so dependable and courteous, made our stay very enjoyable. His name is Tim and his cell number is 345-916-5452. Tell him the girls from Plantana referred you!! Have a wonderful time and write with any other questions!

Would have to agree with the other poster, K, the snorkel trip to Stingray was great fun. We used Captain Marvin. He and some other fishermen basically came up with the idea 48 years ago to take tourists out to where the Stingrays gather. Got to see sharks as well.
Also ate at Lone Star, a fun sports bar-type place. Also check out Big Daddy's and Fidel Murphy's.
Skip Hell and the Turtle Farm.
Cemetery reef was pretty cool.
We rented a car. Remember to stay left.
Only rained one day out of seven.
85-90 each day.

Where are u staying??

Also just got back from 6 nights at Marriot and had a great trip. Best restaurants we found were Hemingways and Grand Old house also Pappagallo. Crows Nest had best conch fritters. Wharf was also good - 2 out of six in our group liked Lantana's(best creme brule?)(sorry sp?)We also hired a boat from Allen at Sunlight Charters - we had six in our group so this was economical for us. His number is 949-1447 or 916-5853 and he leaves from the Yacht Club. He took us to the shallow Stingray City where we could stand and hold stingrays. Also took us nearby for more snorkeling and conch diving. We got six conchs and his cousin removed the conch and marinated it for us and served it on crackers. They gave us the shells to bring home. Another interesting thing we did was attend church - we met Eduardo at the Crow's Nest and asked him about church services. He goes to the Church of God in Boddentown - left hand side of road heading east(there are lots of Church's of God). Service time is 10:30 Am and lasts about two hours. We arrived at 10:50 AM which is perfectly acceptable and left a little after twelve. The music was wonderful with electric guitars and an eight year old drummer. During the service they asked us to introduce those who were attending for the first time - our friend stood up and told them - people kept coming up to us and welcoming us. We enjoyed the terrific gospel music and warm people. Yesterday was our last day there and the weather was extremely hot but the water temperature was fantastic(about 80). We had a terrific time. We appreciate all previous posters and all the info we had before we left.
