Hi there. I do have a couple of questions if you don't mind. Turks and Caicos is one of the places we're thinking about for an anniversary trip in October. What's the latest with contruction around Grace Bay Club? We're also considering Turks and Caicos Club. Which of the 2 places you think is best and why? (I've seen some of your other posts and you seem to know everything about Provo). Price is not an issue. We do like quiet and beaches that are not ridiculously crowded. Since this trip will be without our 4-year-old, we just want to lay on the beach, go to great restaurants and do pretty much nothing else.
Thanks for your help/thoughts.

I've been looking at weather.com to check the weather, as we are fast approaching our trip.
It shows rain almost every day!!!
Is it like Grand Cayman where the showers hit for 5-10 minutes and go away, or are we talking a good rain almost every day??? Yikes, thinking of putting away some of the tank tops and packing a couple rain ponchos!!!

The weather in last 61 days:
It rained 1 full day the second day we were there, the next 60 days were totally sunny.
There were 2 overcast with no rain mornings, but completely cleared up in afternnon. Passing showers late over night a couple of times.
The wind for 1 week was a little ferocious, but that is very unsual. Still sunny and could hang out at the pool, just not really snorkel or do excursions that week. (To be fair, the whole East Coast had unusual winds that week)
Both TCClub and GBC are gorgeous, I like GBC a little more. TCClub is a little quieter, it's kind of by itself at the end of Grace Bay, but GBC is not crowded by any means. GBC is more centrally located, and I think prettier. TCClub feels like a home away from home, GBC feels like a luxurious resort. They are finishing off the new "estates" section, by that I mean moving furniture and finishing touches, so ask for a completed section.

I did not go to Coco Bistro on this trip, but I've been a couple of times before. Beautiful setting, decent food, but once got eaten alive by mosquitos, another time the staff wasn't very pleasant. Still, not enough to keep me away, and I will return.
Differences between Caymans and Provo (This is only my opinion.)
I have not dived either, but I snorkeled both. Both excellent, but I've seen more different types of fish in Provo. Just off the beach at Coral Gardens, I swam with an Eagle Ray, turtles, saw flounder, squid, very cool.
Cayman is built up, but I was there before the hurricane. Lots of chain restaurants, a lot more to do. Stingray City is always fun.
Provo is quieter, although there is a lot of construction going on. No chain restaurants, more "boutique" type resorts.
Caymans has the cruise ships, Provo is a lot quieter.
The weather I think is consistently better in Provo.
While 7 Mile Beach in Caymans is pretty, I find Grace Bay Beach in Provo to be one of the most spectacular in the world.

hot date restuarants
Best atmosphere:Anocoana
Best romantic food:Mongolia and Coyoba
Grace's Cottage
Runner's up: (But you may see a few kids) Bay Bistro
And most romantic of all:
Private lunch excursion on a secluded beach. They will set up table on the shore, leave you with food and drinks, come back and get you when you decide. Usually at Half Moon Beach or around there, which is spectacular!

Blamona: Thank you!!
I think GBC will work best for us. Our anniversary is Oct. 1st and that's the day TCC reopens. We'd rather be on the island on our anniversary day.
I have seen pictures of Half Moon beach and it looks INCREDIBLE. I didn't realize I could arrange for a private lunch excursion which sounds like heaven on earth. Would I do that through the hotel?
Thanks again.

sorry I can't spell, it's restaurant, not restuarant, and it's Magnolia's, not Mongolia's.
Check out:
