Jamaica in June?

How is the weather in June? Particularly on the South Coast (Treasure Beach area). Seems to be more arid than the rest of the island and the rains seem to just be little down pours.

Thank you,
Tina

June can be breezy/windy with choppy seas but little if any rain in TB/check out treasurebeach.net with a query. Weather this past season has been off-kilter,however, in St. Elizabeth, even before any El Nino-redux effects.
Was very hot in MAY. If want to travel to Caribbean during summer months I suggest ARuba. Although a desert, dry type of island, you can count on the weather and the trade winds YEAR ROUND. I am from NE and can't count on the weather so I go to Aruba in the summer and do not worry about the weather again!

That's an exageration. Weather in Jamaica, for example, is flat year-round and tradewinds keep the island cool in the summer months. Only real difference is the water temperature. Sure there's a small degree of temp variance between summer and winter months but really negligible- nothing like the oppressive humidity of Florida.

Air conditioning is a must on island in July-August (and sometimes even May-June for the super sensitive). It rains far less in TB than elsewhere on island but this last season was RAINY May,June, Sept and October. With the uncertain El Nino effect still on, who knows -- but June is traditionally rainy month in Jamaica.

Man I have never seen so much rain this past summer in Jamaica. What was up with that? Went in June, severe and devastating floods and then some friends went a few weeks later and more flooding. Has the track of storms changed?

We went in May, couldn't play golf, road and bridge washed out, gound floor of hotel flooded, saw 14 minutes of sun in 6 days, mud everywhere, got to drink alot! But I do recall that south was not affected. The northern half of Jamaica seems to be in that tropical storm "belt" that time of year.
