Jake's was fun to visit but i think it's a little overpriced for what you get in terms of accomodation...there are lots of nice places to stay in TB (I liked Mar Blue also) that cost less and offer more.
But definitely stop by for cocktail hour if you're in the area!

Jakes definitely gets my vote. The whole atmosphere is laid back and country. Can somebody say RELAX and let go? I personally love the older rooms especially the one called Sea Puss. The vibe is just right at Jakes if laid back is what you're looking for. I would check out Tiverton's suggestions for websites for further info.

Stayed at Jake's and I was really disappointed. Actually a friend had warned me that it didn't live up to the articles or website by a long shot but I just figured she was too fussy. Now I'm not used to staying at posh hotels , more of a backpacker type - but for the price I paid $135 a night in the supposedly slightly nicer than standard room, we didn't even get a ceiling fan which wouldn't be so bad except the room was literally like a furnace - the building was the adobe style- and we couldn't sleep all night. When we asked to move they said there were no other rooms available when clearly there were-doors wide open..Also I thought the service was very unfriendly - there was a magazine doing a model shoot while we were there and they were the only guests who seemed to get any service at all. So it seems like the focus is on getting good write-ups on magazines..again the place looks charming but really a letdown. We ended up moving to a much nicer boutique hotel in Negril for half the price.
