Isla Verde vs. Condado

What's the difference between the two beach areas in Isla Verde and Condado? Like great beaches, nightlife, casinos, good pools with swim-up bars, not overcrowded and as safe as possible to walk on beach at night. Looking at El San Juan, Intercontinental and Marriott in mid-late October for a week. Thanks!

I prefer the beach in Isla Verde, less wave action.. You will find what you are looking for at the El San Juan and Intercontinental. Have stayed in both and prefer the El San Juan - nicer grounds and a much better, more popular, casino. It is safe to walk on the beach at night. Beach is never overcrowded.

I spent 5 nights in Condado at the Wyndham Condado Plaza and 1 night in Isla Verde at the Intercontinental in May and Isla Verde was much better. The beach is wider and longer and the hotels were nicer. I enjoyed my stay at the Intercontinental, if I go again I'd stay at the Ritz.

Like the other posters, I think Isla Verde has the better beach, although the beach in front of the Marriott isn't bad. Dining and nightlife in the Isla Verde area is more hotel-based (much of it occurring at the El San Juan - which, by the way, I will be heading to in about an hour!). All of the hotels you listed have nice pools. I know that the El San Juan has a swim-up bar but I'm not sure about the Intercontinental or the Marriott. ALso, the pool at the Marriott is very shallow - I think 3 feet at the deepest point. The El San Juan has two pools - one is an olympic-sized pool and another is a free-form pool.

I wouldn't recommend walking too far down the beach at night either at Condado or Isla Verde.
