Info on Sandals Negril Please - First time

Hi. My wife and I will be spending 7 days late June at Sandals Negril. We have not been to any Sandals property before and we are looking for any advice on this one. This is a nice surprise as my wife received this as an incentive so the stay is free (we have to cover our transportation to Jamacia). We are seasoned independent travelers, with many trips all over Europe under out belts, so we are interested in things outside of the resort as well. We are not the kind to lay around for 7 days doing nothing and do enjoy meeting local people and seeing local sights. If it matters, we are also both in our early fifties, so not looking for directions to the nearest disco or party bar.

We have also been to other islands (Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, Bahamas).

Any advice and ideas will be appreciated. We are looking forward to this trip and excited about visiting yet another country to add to our list.
Thanks

Sandals Negril is wonderful we had the best time in our life their. The beach is the best you can walk forever, the sunset is to die for. The resort is a place to R&R and collect your thoughts.
The staff is the best and try to make your stay the best it can be. We walked down to Beaches resort for lunch on several occasions, you have full privelages there also. The food is very good at all of the resturants. We have been to several of Sandals resorts and Negril is our favorite! Email me if you would like!

We have been to several Sandals and this one is our favorite. Grat tropical atmosphere, relaxing and casual and wonderfulfood and service.

Sides from teh tons of activities they offer on teh reosrt, you can wander about the two Beaches properties also in Negril, take a boat cruise to Ricks Cafe for the cliff diving at sunset (wonderful trip), wander aobut town, go to the Pickles Parrot (popular spot in NEgril), take a raft tour, house back ride, etc....Sandals has a full activites and tour desk.

Charlie,

My new husband and I just returned from Sandals Negril. What a wonderful place. There was not one staff member who did not leave a lasting impression on me. Every single person (staff members) you meet greets you with a smile, a hand shake and looks you in the eye,and asks you how your trip has been. The food is amazing, the water is beautiful, the atmosphere is relaxed when you want it to be. One bit of advice I can give is be open minded, and always remember you are on Jamaica time. This means don't ever expect things to happen in a hurry. Once you go with the flow, your real Jamaica/Sandals experience will happen. I am so jealous.....have fun. We WILL return to this resort.

Thanks to all for the feedback. The trip is a go and we are excited about it. Just booked our air and are ready to go. Sounds like we will enjoy it. We are both looking forward to seven days of relaxing and soaking up some sun and surf. Again, thanks. I will post my impressions upon our return.
