Hurricane Charley damage on Grand Cayman?
Can anyone comment on Hurricane Charley's impact on Grand Cayman? Particularly 7 mile beach? Any 'hearsay' or actual sightings would be appreciated.

We just returned from Grand Cayman. Hurricane Charley missed the island. The hurricane passed by about 10 am on August 12th. We drove around the entire Island that afternoon and did not see any significant damage.

A couple of days ago we received a newsletter from The Reef on the East End of the island. We had stayed there in June. Debris, tree limbs, seaweed, etc., were all over the beach. There was a wonderful story about how the guests helped clean up the beach, and afterward everything looked great again. So I guess now it looks the way it did before the hurricane.

samsaf.. actually the guests did such an awesome job of pitching in (without being asked!) that by midday the resort looked better than ever... and given our high standards, that was going some !
Planning to get some pictures up on the website when I get a moment, will send that info out with another email newsletter.
